Detained Vehicles can only be released with a fine of Rs. 1000 / - | GUJARAT GOVERNMENT

             In view of the public presentation, the Home Minister and Transport Minister of the Government of Gujarat were presented by me. Accordingly, the penalty amount for vehicles that are detained during the period of #lockdown will be limited to Rs 500 and Rs 1000.





In exercise of the powers conferred by the subsection
(1) of Section 200 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988) and notwithstanding the Notification No.: PT/2019/12/MVD/102014/165/KH dated 12/09/2019 and in continuation to the Notification PT/2020/07/MVD/102014/165/KH dated 09/04/2020 of this department, the Government of Gujarat hereby fixes the maximum composition fee, to compound the No.:- offences irrespective of type and number of all the offences registered for the vehicles which are detained by the police officer during the lockdown period, from the date of issuance of this notification as follows:

1) The sum of Rs.500/-( Rupees Five Hundred only) for two-wheelers
and three-wheelers.

2) The sum of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) for vehicles
other than above.

Explanation:-

1. If the actual sum of composition fee has arrived less than the above maximum fee, then such actual amount shall be levied.

2. In case an offence is registered for the non-production of document(s) on demand and owner of the vehicle produce document(s) in electronic form (Digi-locker) or in physical form within 15 days from the date of demand, such offence shall required to be disposed and no compounding fee shall be levied.

3. This notification shall apply to the vehicles which are detained by the police officer during the lockdown period only
